What We Believe

"For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified."
1 Corinthians 2:2

THE GOSPEL

Good News
Jesus Christ came to rescue or save sinners like you and me.  As a wise man once said, 'you and I are more messed up than we think, but God loves us way more than we could ever imagine'!

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." -Romans 6:23

Eternal Life
We must place our faith in Him alone for salvation and this can be done today!  By praying for God to give you a sincere heart and asking Jesus Christ to give You life in Him, you can have eternal life through Jesus Christ.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life and no one comes to the Father, except through me.” - John 14:6

SIN

Desperate Need
Due to our imperfect actions, we have earned eternal death. We are all forced to pay a penalty.  We earn death because of our sin, and we are in desperate need of help as those who are dead in our sins without hope except saved by God's sovereign mercy.

"All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
- Romans 3:23

"And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience—among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind." -Ephesians 2:1–3

JESUS RESCUES

Perfect Substitute
The great news is that Jesus Christ was perfect, yet He died on the cross (which is a sign of being cursed).  He died the death you and I should have died because of our sin.

Instead of us paying the death penalty, because we have not met the standard God set for us in His law, Jesus took our place as the perfect substitute.

He gave His life to rescue us from our sin and gives us life with God both now on earth and forever in heaven.

"For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."
-2 Corinthians 5:21

FORGIVENESS AND LIFE

Trust In Jesus
The Holy God freely gives this gift of salvation to His people, but this gift is only received through faith alone in Jesus Christ and not our good works.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

THE WORD OF GOD

God‘s Truth
The Bible teaches us the truth about God, ourselves and our world.  It is the only rule of faith and practice. God’s infallible and inspired word is contained in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments.

"All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness."
- 2 Timothy 3:16

THE TRINITY

Three In One
There is one eternal, perfect God who exists in three persons:  the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  All three persons of the Trinity take part in our lives and are to be loved and worshipped.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."
-Matthew 28:19

ASSURANCE OF SALVATION

His Secure Love
Because our salvation is God's work, not ours, and a free gift, not earned, God will keep us secure in His love to the end.

"And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
-Philippians 1:6

ENJOYING GOD

Living For His Glory
God has saved us in order that we might enjoy Him and live for His glory.  God desires that we live holy and obedient lives, not to earn His favor, but rather to show Him our love and gratitude.

"Who satisfies you with good things, so that your youth may be renewed like the eagle's." -Psalm 103:5

HEAVEN AND HELL

Life & Death
At death, the Christian's soul passes into the presence of God.  Heaven is where the believer in Christ will forever experience the beauty and glory of God.  Hell is the place where those who die without Christ live eternally under the wrath of God and apart from His goodness.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life." -John 3:16

COVENANT BAPTISM

God‘s Covenant
Baptism is a sign of God's covenant with His people, and should be administered to those who place their trust in Christ, as well as their children.

"Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children." -Acts 2:38-39

CHRIST'S RETURN

Second Coming of Christ
Jesus Christ will return to earth at a future time when He is not expected.  He will bring history to a close and usher in the eternal plan of God in the new heavens and new earth.

"Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to him, we ask you, brothers, not to be quickly shaken in mind or alarmed, either by a spirit or a spoken word, or a letter seeming to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come."
-2 Thessalonians 2:1-2
